Stephanie Sauder, R-Bryant and Horizon's Chief Development and Strategy Officer Lexy Eggert who gave the event welcome and introduced Erickson and Sauder.

Horizon Health, a leading provider of health care services in rural South Dakota, officially launched their new unified brand identity May 8, 2024, to better reflect Horizon Health's commitment to innovation and excellence in serving the health needs of its communities. The event, held at the De Smet Event Center, showcased the new brand and vision for the future, with remarks from Horizon CEO, Wade Erickson and Representative Stephanie Sauder.

State Rep. Stephanie Sauder, R-Bryant, discussed the impact Horizon Health has had on her family at the organization's brand launch on May 8 in De Smet. The Horizon Health - Bryant clinic was easily accessible to treat her children's illnesses, and the 340B program has saved them thousands of dollars in medication costs. The program offers prescription drugs at a substantially lower rate.

"While each of our clinics and care sites have their own unique history and will always be a part of our story, we are one organization and we are better together," said Wade Erickson, CEO of Horizon Health. "It’s time to strengthen our brand and recognition as Horizon Health, embodying our promise of 'Caring for our Way of Life.'"

The rebranding initiative is part of Horizon’s refined vision, which includes cutting-edge changes designed to continue improving rural health care. The organization is enhancing its use of telemedicine, expanding behavioral health care services, and introducing teledentistry—all aimed at increasing accessibility and quality of care in remote areas.

Further demonstrating its dedication to rural health, Horizon Health launched the "Rooted in Rural" campaign and a "grow your own" health care career program. This initiative has seen great success in its first year, with student shadowing opportunities and expanded partnerships for student rotations. These efforts underscore Horizon Health’s commitment to fostering the next generation of health care professionals within the community and rural South Dakota.

"These accomplishments make us proud, and we’re only getting started," added Erickson. "Today, we are excited to share a bigger glimpse into our future. It's a new look, a new approach, and a new position for Horizon Health. 'Caring for our Way of Life' re-establishes our commitment to rural South Dakota."
